Each individual contributes specialist knowledge that enhances our work across complex and sensitive areas. Through collaboration, we are able to deliver tailored support, training, and consultancy to a broad range of clients and projects.
Sabah Kaiser
Sabah is a seasoned consultant with over 15 years of expertise in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), community engagement, and legislative compliance across the UK and Northern Ireland. An EDI Fellow at Oxford University Regents College, Sabah assists in initiatives to enhance cultural competency and address challenges faced by ethnic minority groups within academic and institutional settings.
She has served as both a specialist consultant and Ethnic Minority Ambassador for the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, as well as a consultant for the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, where her work has shaped culturally responsive frameworks and inclusive practices across sectors. With a strong focus on safeguarding ethnic minority women and children from sexual and physical violence, Sabah holds numerous certifications in safeguarding, cultural competency, and community engagement.
Fluent in multiple languages and recognised for her grassroots insights, she brings a nuanced understanding of ethnic minority barriers, fostering impactful, equitable solutions that build resilience and strengthen community and organisational relations.
Michael Broadhurst
Michael qualified as a social worker in 2009 with a First Class Honours Degree (BSc), registered with Social Work England and a member of BASW and the Institute of Regulation. He also has a Diploma in Social Policy and Criminology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Positive Psychology. Michael is an accredited Realise2 Strengths Coach, an accredited Stress Manager, and an accredited Neuro Linguistic Programming practitioner.
Michael has worked in children and families safeguarding for over 20 years and has delivered and developed numerous services, including reunification assessment work, solution focused therapeutic work, children’s rights and advocacy, and child sexual exploitation (CSE) awareness services. Michael also has significant experience in senior roles, having managed post-sexual abuse therapeutic work, life story work, and CSE services. In addition, Michael was previously employed as a consultant social worker at the NSPCC, where he was responsible for leading on quality assurance, providing models of non-line management supervision, supporting practitioners with complex cases, undertaking case file and safeguarding reviews, contributing to the development of services and knowledge transfer.
Michael currently works as an independent social worker completing assessment work, safeguarding investigations, and quality assurance work. In addition, Michael also works as a senior member of the fitness to practice team in social work regulation, where he is employed as an independent decision-maker.
Jacqui Smith
Jacqui is a qualified and registered social worker with a career spanning more than 33 years. She has worked across a wide range of agencies including Local Authority Children’s Services, and national charities. Jacqui also worked as a self-employed Guardian Ad Litem, safeguarding children in the family courts and later for CAFCASS, where she was responsible for quality assurance and improving practice and developed their practice learning service across England.
Jacqui has lectured at several universities and been module lead responsible for practice on MSc and BSc social work qualifying courses as well as an external assessor and examiner. As an independent consultant, Jacqui has provided a range of social work services and training to both the voluntary and statutory sector (across Adults and Children’s Services, Mental Health Services, Drug and Alcohol Services, Housing and Homeless Services). Additionally acting as Practice Educator observing, teaching, assessing and supervising social workers in training across a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.
Most recently, Jacqui worked as a lead facilitator in the Truth Project, and as a safeguarding officer for both the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse and the Covid Inquiry, assessing and managing safeguarding risks, providing advice and training in relation to safeguarding. Jacqui also works as a Social Work Adjudicator, hearing Fitness to Practice proceedings for Social Work England. Outside of work, Jacqui sits as a Family Magistrate, hearing and adjudicating on both public and private law matters.
Narinder Rall
Narinder served 15 years with West Yorkshire Police, including 10 years as a
detective in the Child Protection Unit investigating serious crimes.
She is highly skilled in multi-agency collaboration and provides expert safeguarding guidance to clergy, law enforcement, and community members. Her experience includes managing complex, high-volume casework, conducting investigations in line with best practice and legislation, and delivering child protection training.
Narinder is trained in Achieving Best Evidence for victims aged 4–18 and adults, and works regularly with Social Care, Health, Probation, Education, and the Registered Intermediary Service. She holds national qualifications in investigative interviewing and safeguarding and has worked with CEOP, Interpol, and MI5 on serious and complex cases.
Narinder earned a degree in Public Policy and Management and now serves as Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor for the Church of England. In this role, she supports churches in managing safeguarding concerns, conducting risk assessments, and liaising with statutory agencies. She has contributed to major audits, including the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse within the church.
Jo Lloyd
Jo is a qualified Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, and Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with over 17 years’ experience supporting people both in the private and voluntary sector. She began her counselling career working in a Rape Crisis centre offering long term support to adults. Alongside this Jo trained as an ISVA and spent over five years providing emotional and practical support to individuals who have experienced sexual violence and/or abuse.
More recently Jo has spent nearly four years working on the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) providing trauma-informed support to victims and survivors that engaged in the Truth Project or attended engagement events. She has provided short-term counselling for adults that have attended the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). In addition, throughout her career Jo has contributed to the development of service policies, guidelines, monitoring and evaluation, and been involved in creating and adapting risk and needs assessment tools and support plans for adults, children, and young people.
Jo has recently completed an enhanced introduction in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) with the aim of completing the full qualification in the near future and continues to provide support to clients and supervisees in her private practice.
Steve Harris
Since gaining an MA in Clinical Counselling in 2011, Steve has worked for a variety of organisations, including Mind and Action for Children, providing 1:2:1 therapy, group therapy and psycho-educational training focusing on stress and trauma. Through his career as a therapist Steve has become experienced and skilled in working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, sexualities and cultures and approaches his work from each person's unique perspective of the world. Steve is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
For the last 13 years, Steve has worked for an organisation in North Wales providing free, long-term therapeutic support to adult victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
He also spent 6 years at the Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse as part of the Truth Project and providing clinical consultation and is currently a senior counsellor providing staff support to the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.
Sally Quail
Sally holds an MSc in Therapeutic Counselling gained in 2018 and is an accredited counsellor, registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is an integrative counsellor, incorporating person-centred and psychodynamic theory and techniques into her practice. She also holds a Diploma in Clinical Supervision of individuals and groups.
Sally is currently the Counselling Lead at BACP Accredited Community Counselling Service in South East London which provides low cost counselling to adults. Sally brings to her client work an understanding of inclusive and intercultural practice and has worked with a diverse range of clients presenting with issues including anxiety, depression and childhood trauma. Sally has a strong understanding and experience of working with people who have chronic and complex mental health problems including trauma and has contributed to trauma-informed initiatives, training, and published work.
Sally previously worked as a Counsellor for the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. Alongside her current role as Clinical Lead at the Community Counselling Service, she has a small private practice offering counselling to adults and clinical supervision to counsellors.
Pirjo Singer
Pirjo is a psychotherapist, neuropsychotherapy specialist, and accredited professional coach with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs. Her clinical work spans Autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, complex PTSD, addiction, and recovery, drawing on trauma‑informed, evidence‑based approaches to help clients build resilience and meaningful change. She also brings specialist expertise in risk assessment and management relating to suicidality, self‑harm, and substance misuse.
Alongside her therapy practice, Pirjo is an experienced Clinical Supervisor, providing leadership and oversight to practitioners across mental health charities, schools, crisis services, and corporate environments. She serves as Clinical Supervision Lead for a national mental health charity, has been a Professional Advisor for YoungMinds, and provides supervision for Shout (UK Crisis Text Line). Her consultancy and coaching work extends internationally, supporting professionals across multiple sectors, and C‑suite leadership, with a focus on confidence, wellbeing, and sustainable ways of working. She also currently supports police staff through reflective practice and psychologically informed consultation and therapy, helping teams navigate high‑pressure and emotionally demanding roles.
Pirjo is committed to ongoing professional development and is completing an MSc in Neuroscience & Psychology of Mental Health. She is a registered psychotherapist (MBACP), an EMCC‑accredited coach, and holds advanced safeguarding, suicide intervention, bereavement, and specialist clinical qualifications.
